About the Service
Will getting my hair done at home make a mess?
Not at all. I bring a professional-grade protective floor mat, drop cloths if needed, and a portable vacuum. I sweep, vacuum, and wipe down before I leave. Your space looks exactly the way I found it - only better.
Do I need a salon sink, special chair, or any equipment?
No. I bring everything: portable styling chair, neck rest, towels, capes, mat, products, tools. For shampoo/color rinse-out we use your kitchen sink, bathroom sink, or shower - whichever is more comfortable for you.
How much space do I actually need?
A 6'ร6' area near a power outlet works great. Kitchens and bathrooms are ideal because of lighting, sinks, and tile floors, but I've successfully styled in living rooms, home offices, and hotel suites of every size.
How long do appointments take?
Cuts: 30-90 min depending on style. Color: 90 min - 3 hr. Highlights/balayage: 2.5-4 hr. Color correction: 3-5 hr. I'll always give a realistic estimate when you book.
Will my home smell like a salon afterward?
I use low-ammonia and ammonia-free color formulations whenever possible. I open windows for ventilation during color services and use a small portable HEPA filter. Most clients report no lingering smell.
Booking & Scheduling
How far in advance should I book?
Two to three weeks is ideal for color and extensions. Cuts can often be scheduled within 3-7 days. For weddings and events, please book 6-12 weeks out so we can include a trial.
What are your hours?
Monday through Saturday, 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Sundays I'm officially closed - but if you have an emergency and I happen to be free, text me. I'll do my best to make it work.
Can I book a Sunday or late-evening appointment?
Sundays aren't part of my regular schedule, but I'm happy to accommodate when I'm available - please text me to ask. Late evenings during the week are common; my last appointment of the day typically starts by 7:30 PM so I can finish by 9.
Can I book a same-day appointment?
Sometimes! I keep a small number of priority slots open for existing clients and short-notice requests. Text me - if I'm available, I'll come.
Do you take recurring/standing appointments?
Yes, and I encourage them. Standing appointments lock in your preferred time and ensure you never have to think about scheduling.
What's your cancellation policy?
I require 48 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel without a fee. Cancellations within 48 hours are charged 50% of the booked service. No-shows are charged 100%.
Do you require a deposit?
A $50 non-refundable deposit secures the appointment for new clients and for any service over $250. Applied to your final balance.
Pricing & Payment
Why are mobile prices similar to salon prices?
You're not paying for a salon's overhead - you're paying for three decades of expertise, premium products, sterilized tools, and the convenience of zero commute.
What forms of payment do you accept?
All major credit cards (Square/Stripe), Apple Pay, Zelle, Venmo, CashApp, Chime, and cash.
Is gratuity expected?
Gratuity is always appreciated but never expected.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Digital gift cards in any amount, delivered by email, never expire.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes - refer a new client who books a service of $100 or more, and you'll receive $25 off your next appointment. No cap.
Travel & Service Area
How far do you travel?
I'm based in Huntington Beach. Travel within 15 miles is complimentary. Beyond 15 miles, a flat $2 per mile, one way is added to your total. See the Service Area page for the full zone breakdown.
How is the travel fee calculated?
I use Google Maps driving distance from my Huntington Beach base (zip 92648) to your address. The first 15 miles are free. Every mile beyond that is $2, one way. So if you're 22 miles away, you're 7 miles outside Zone 1 - that's a $14 travel fee.
Why $2 per mile?
It covers fuel, vehicle wear, and the time spent driving instead of styling. It's intentionally simple and transparent - no per-zone tiering, no zip-code roulette.
Can you come to my hotel?
Absolutely. Hotel suites in Newport Beach, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and West Hollywood are some of my favorite work environments.
Can you come to my office?
Yes - many of my executive clients book lunch-hour and after-hours office appointments.
Cleanliness, Safety, & Health
How do you sanitize your tools?
Every tool is fully sanitized between every appointment using hospital-grade Barbicide for combs/shears and UV sterilization for select tools. Capes and towels are freshly laundered for each client.
I have allergies/sensitive scalp/skin conditions - can you still work with me?
Yes. I carry hypoallergenic, ammonia-free, sulfate-free, and fragrance-free product options. Mention this in your booking notes.
Are your products vegan / cruelty-free?
I carry several vegan and cruelty-free product lines and am happy to use only those for your service.
Will you wear a mask if I ask?
Yes - please mention it when booking and I'll arrive prepared.
Specialty Services
How do hair-system / hair-replacement appointments work?
Whether you have an existing system or are starting fresh, we begin with a private consultation. I source, fit, blend, and maintain - all in your home or office. Every interaction is fully confidential, with NDAs available on request.
How do extension consultations work?
We start with a brief phone or video call. I then come for an in-home assessment to color-match, density-check, and select method. Once ordered, I return to install.
Can you do my wedding day hair?
Yes. I strongly recommend a bridal trial 4-8 weeks before the wedding.
Do you cut children's hair?
Yes. Children's cuts are $55 (under 17). I'm patient with squirmy toddlers.
Can you accommodate clients with mobility limitations?
Absolutely. I can work with seated clients, recliners, and wheelchairs.

About the In-Home Service
Will getting my hair done at home make a mess?
No. I bring a professional floor mat, protective drop cloths if needed, and a portable vacuum. I sweep, vacuum, and wipe down all surfaces before I leave. Your space looks exactly as it did when I arrived โ only with better hair.
Do I need a salon sink or special equipment?
No. I bring everything: portable styling chair, towels, capes, mat, products, and all tools. For services that require rinsing, we use your kitchen sink, bathroom sink, or shower โ whichever is most comfortable. I handle all the logistics.
How much space do I actually need?
A six-by-six-foot area near a power outlet works perfectly. Kitchens and bathrooms are ideal because of sinks and lighting, but I have worked in living rooms, home offices, hotel suites, and yacht saloons of every configuration.
Will my home smell like a salon afterward?
I use low-ammonia and ammonia-free color formulations whenever possible. I open windows for ventilation during color services and use a portable HEPA air filter. Most clients report no lingering odor.
Booking and Scheduling
How far in advance should I book?
Two to three weeks is ideal for color and extension services. Precision haircuts can often be scheduled within three to seven days. Weddings and events should be booked six to twelve weeks in advance to allow time for a trial.
What are your hours?
Monday through Saturday, 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Sundays I am officially closed, but I accommodate requests when I am available โ text me to ask.
Can I get a same-day appointment?
Sometimes, especially for clients near my Huntington Beach base. Text me and I will check my current schedule.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 48 hours notice to reschedule or cancel without a fee. Cancellations within 48 hours are charged 50% of the booked service. No-shows are charged 100% of the service price.
Pricing and Payment
Why is the pricing similar to a salon?
You are paying for three decades of expertise, premium professional products, sterilized tools, and the convenience of zero commute. The overhead I carry is different from a salon โ I do not charge for the parking lot โ but the skill and product quality are equivalent to or better than most high-end salons.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit cards via Square, Apple Pay, Zelle, Venmo, CashApp, and cash. Payment is collected at the end of each appointment.
Do you require a deposit?
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required for new clients and for services over $250. The deposit is applied to your final balance.
Hair Extensions FAQ
How natural will my extensions look?
With the right color match, the right method for your hair type, and a properly executed cut-in, premium extensions are genuinely undetectable. The quality of the cut-in โ where extension meets natural hair โ is the most skill-dependent part of the process and is where most amateur work is exposed. This is where three decades of cutting experience matters.
How long does the appointment take?
Consultations run 45โ60 minutes. First-time installs run 3โ5 hours depending on method and volume. Maintenance visits run 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Can extensions help with postpartum hair loss?
Often yes. Extensions are a common solution for postpartum density loss. For more significant loss, a topper or integration system may be a better fit โ we assess this at consultation.
Hair Replacement FAQ
How undetectable is a properly fitted hair piece?
With proper hairline design, accurate color matching, the right base material, and a master-level cut-in, a quality hair system is undetectable at normal social distance โ including in photographs. The four factors that determine undetectability are discussed in detail on the hair replacement page.
Can I swim and exercise in my system?
Yes, with the right attachment method. We select the method based on your lifestyle at the consultation appointment.
What does this cost per year?
Realistic annual cost ranges from $2,500 for one stock system with monthly maintenance to $6,000 plus for premium custom systems with every-three-week maintenance. I provide a full written cost projection at every consultation.
Cleanliness and Safety
How do you sanitize your tools?
Every tool is sanitized between every appointment using hospital-grade Barbicide for combs and shears and UV sterilization for select tools. Capes and towels are freshly laundered for each client. I have held these standards since 1994.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. California State Board Cosmetology License #286840, active since 1994. $1,000,000 general liability insurance. Documentation available on request.
