My Story

I've been licensed by the California State Board of Cosmetology since 1994. For the first chapter of my career, I worked behind the chair in some of the industry's most demanding salon environments - from busy Newport Beach salons to private studio sets - perfecting the craft of cut, color, and styling.

Along the way, I developed what would become my deepest specialty: non-surgical hair replacement. Men's hair systems and toupees aren't a service most stylists pursue. The skill curve is steep, the work is detail-driven, and the client relationship is intensely personal. But the more I practiced it, the more I came to love it. There's nothing in the trade more rewarding than handing a client a mirror after a great fit and watching the way they look at themselves change.

In 2008, I made a deliberate change. I'd noticed my clients changing too - the busy executive who couldn't lose two hours to traffic, the new mom who couldn't find childcare for a single appointment, and especially the hair-replacement clients, for whom the public-studio model has always been the wrong fit. They didn't need another salon. They needed the salon to come to them.

Why I Went Mobile

I founded Mobile Hair By Jon-Paul to bridge the gap between luxury and convenience. By bringing the salon to my clients, I removed the commute, the unpredictability of salon wait times, the small talk you didn't sign up for, and - most importantly for my hair-replacement clients - the lack of true privacy. What's left is what really matters: your hair, beautifully done, on your schedule, in your space.

I am one of the very few licensed stylists in Southern California who specializes in non-surgical hair replacement - men's hair systems, toupees, custom-fit replacement units - and the only one I know of who delivers it on a fully mobile basis. I am Jon-Paul, a licensed mobile hairstylist since 1994 specializing in hair extensions for women and non-surgical hair replacement for men. Why I Went Mobile

In 2008, I made a deliberate professional pivot. I had spent years watching my clients struggle with the salon model — the commute, the wait, the lack of privacy, the inconsistency of working with different stylists. My hair replacement clients felt this most acutely. Sitting in a glass-walled studio, surrounded by other clients, navigating a parking lot — none of that fit the service they deserved.

So I created Mobile Hair By Jon-Paul. A one-stylist operation built on a simple premise: the salon experience should come to the client, not the other way around. I bring everything a professional salon has — the chair, the products, the tools, the technique — to your home, hotel, or office. You stay in your comfort. I do the work.

Hair Extensions

I install every major extension method — tape-ins, K-tips, I-tips, hand-tied wefts, beaded sew-ins — using 100% Remy human hair from Bellami, Hotheads, and Cinderella Hair. The part of the installation that most stylists rush is the cut-in: the technical work of blending the extension seamlessly into your natural hair. A Note on Consistency

One of the least-discussed advantages of working with a single mobile stylist over years is color formula and service consistency. I maintain a complete record of every appointment I perform: the exact color formula used, the extension hair lot and attachment method, the cut measurements, any product sensitivities or scalp conditions noted, and the results that worked and those that needed adjustment.

When you rebook six weeks or six months later, I arrive knowing exactly where we left off. I can match your previous color precisely or adjust it intentionally — with a documented baseline rather than guesswork. Most salons cannot offer this because the colorist who handles your second appointment may never have seen your first formula.
